Acceptable Norm

This is another Oil Painting I have done depicting changing values of society and acceptable norms!

Stitched Portrait

Having painted several oil paintings of faces, I decided to sew this quick hand sewn portrait on linen.

Footstool

Continuing the theme of adornment, I took an old battered footstool and gave it a new lease of life by sewing a union jack type cover and adding flower trim.

School Cross Stitch

Having been looking at Portraits and how we adorn ourselves and our home I decided to sew a Cross Stitch. There is so much on the news about schools performance and childrens rights I thought it would be ironic to take a light hearted glimpse back at how school life was not so long ago.........

Beaded Glass Vase

I've been looking at how we adorn ourselves and our home and selected this plain glass vase. I then sewed beads together froming small circles as they kind of reminded me of the shpaes made when filling the vase with water as it runs in. The circles were then joined using smaller circles and sections of circles until it wrapped the vase. I did not want to completely cover the vase as I thought it relected the human behaviour of trying to change our outward appearance to others while remaining the 'same inside'.
Just some cushions I have made recently.

Altered Childs Desk

This desk, with storage in the desk and the seat, was plain white and uninviting. I sprayed the lid and seat with gloss paint of a more exciting colour. The desk was a size suitable for a toddler so I then selected pictures from comics and decoupaged them onto the it. Layer of Varnish was applied to extend its durability and functionality.

Far more appealing now.....

Riot Police

This is the piece I am working on at the moment. I have used oil paints on a 4x4' piece of MDF.
It is still drying at the moment so appears darker in some areas than others.
I had originally painted it on paper but feel that the size of the piece has an impact in this case so decided to paint it 4'squared. I did consider painting it on 3x8' panels but thought the image would lose its impact being 'cut up'.

January still

This is another oil painting: 2' square this time.
Considering highlighting the tattoo in some way but not sure yet.

Pink Nude

Completed Oil Painted Nude I finished in January. Its 3' squared and was the biggest I had done to date.

HATS and MONSTER SOCKS!

These are a few of the hats I knitted before Christmas.
I also made an Owl, a Frog and a Rasta-Monkey.

And these are my Monster Socks I designed and crocheted. They are double layered so are really warm with Latex underneath to make them practical too.
